Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø hosts presentation of The Civil War: A Digital History

Hamilton, NY — Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø will welcome Edward Ayers, Hugh P. Kelly Professor of History at the University of Virginia, to make a presentation titled ‘The Civil War: A Digital History’ on Thursday, April 19, 2001 in 27 Persson Hall. The event, which begins at 4 p.m., is free and open to the public. Ayers’ presentation is part of the Douglas K. Reading Lecture Series at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø.

Ayers is the author of a number of books, including The Promise of the New South: Life After Reconstruction. He has been the recipient of several awards that include the Owsley Award of the Southern Historical Association and the Rawley Prize of the Organization of American Historians, and has been a finalist for both the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize. His books have also been chosen as a Main Selection of the History Book Club.
